The atmosphere

At the northern tip of Costa Adeje, La Caleta has kept the soul of the fishing village it was thirty years ago: low-rise houses gathered around a small cove, colourful boats, and that late-afternoon light that draws strollers from all along the coast. The contrast with the avenues of the neighbouring resort is striking — here, everything is on a human scale.

Today, La Caleta is the gastronomic address of the island's south. Its seafood restaurants, from the most traditional to the most creative, draw regulars from the entire west coast. You dine here facing the sunset over La Gomera, then walk home along the promenade. It is this blend of authenticity and refinement that defines the neighbourhood.

Daily life falls into place effortlessly: the shops and services of Costa Adeje are five minutes away by car, the golf course sits immediately above the village, and the coastal promenade links La Caleta to the Duque beaches for those on foot. The neighbourhood itself remains deliberately preserved, with little new development.

This scarcity shapes the market: the contemporary front-line residences, the villas in the neighbouring hills and the handful of village houses change hands rarely and command high prices. When a fine address comes onto the market in La Caleta, it finds a buyer within weeks.

The neighbourhood appeals to those in love with Tenerife who want the ocean without the bustle: year-round couples, buyers seeking an elegant second home, discerning food lovers who want to walk down to dinner. An understated luxury, with nothing to prove.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about La Caleta

It is in fact one of its most natural uses. The village is safe, peaceful and easy to live in: you arrive from the airport in twenty-five minutes, you walk to dinner that very evening, and the newer residences offer amenities that make life at a distance simpler — pool, security and, in some cases, concierge service. We handle the administrative formalities from Luxembourg so that the home is ready for every stay.

Yes, but they are rare. A few contemporary residences line the promenade and the coast to the north of the village, and resales there are infrequent. When an opportunity comes up, it is concluded quickly: it is exactly the kind of address for which we alert our clients ahead of the market launch.

For most of daily life, yes: restaurants, coves, the coastal promenade and local shops are all within walking distance. For the big shop, clinics or shopping centres, allow five minutes by car towards Costa Adeje. Most of our clients use their car only two or three times a week.
