Choosing the right neighbourhood, from Tenerife to mainland Spain

Southern Tenerife has the island’s mildest climate and most of our properties. Our selection also covers mainland Spain (Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca, Costa Cálida) with the same method: choose the neighbourhood that fits how you will use the home before looking for a property.

Our historic heartland: the south of the island, known house by house.

Understanding Tenerife’s south coast

Four areas of the south, and what sets them apart

West of the airport, Costa Adeje and its neighbourhoods (La Caleta, Playa del Duque, Fañabé) hold the five-star hotels, the golf course above the ocean, the private clinics and the shops. Right next door, Las Américas and Los Cristianos are the liveliest areas on the island: sandy beaches, seafront promenades, restaurants and services open late, all on foot.

To the east, the south-east coast (El Médano, Golf del Sur, Costa del Silencio, Las Galletas) keeps its Canarian villages, greens facing the sea and the airport under ten minutes away. To the west, Callao Salvaje, Playa Paraíso, Abama and Los Gigantes line up the Los Gigantes cliffs, sunsets over La Gomera and the quietest areas on the coast.

The 16 neighbourhoods we know house by house

Each profile details the atmosphere, the market, the strengths and what you should know before buying.

Mainland Spain — Málaga · Andalusia

Costa del Sol

21 zones

From Málaga to Sotogrande, 2 h 45 non-stop from Luxembourg.

The zones we cover

Everything within an hour of Málaga airport

The zones we recommend to Luxembourg buyers. On mainland Spain we work exclusively with new builds: the first developments are on their way, and the profiles and map are ready.

From Málaga to Sotogrande, the Costa del Sol has one hundred and fifty kilometres of coastline, 2 h 45 by direct flight from Luxembourg. Our coverage does not stop in the west: it takes in the city of Málaga, the eastern coast as far as Nerja and the Guadalhorce hinterland, everything that can be reached within an hour of the airport.

Each profile follows the same method as our Tenerife neighbourhoods: the atmosphere, the market, observed prices and what you should know before buying. From the Golden Mile to the villages of the Axarquía the price gaps are wide: the map below places each zone, and each pin opens its profile.

Mainland Spain — Alicante · Valencian Community

Costa Blanca

20 zones

Alicante non-stop in 2 h 05; the airport is between 10 minutes and 1 h 20 away depending on the zone.

The zones we cover

From Dénia to Orihuela Costa, by way of Alicante’s outskirts

The shortest flight from Luxembourg (2 h 05). On mainland Spain we work exclusively with new builds: the first developments are on their way, and the profiles and map are ready.

Alicante airport is served non-stop from Findel in 2 h 05, and fifteen of our twenty zones are under fifty minutes from the runway. You land at midday and view in the afternoon. To the north, the Marina Alta (Dénia, Jávea, Moraira, Altea) has villas on wooded plots and a coastline of coves; to the south, the Vega Baja concentrates golf residences and the lowest entry prices on the Costa Blanca.

Between the two, Alicante’s outskirts (San Vicente del Raspeig, Mutxamel, El Campello, Gran Alacant) combine tram links, a university, hospitals and new-build developments at prices per square metre well below the seafront. That is the sector we look at first for a purchase meant to be kept for a long time.

Mainland Spain — Region of Murcia

Costa Cálida

10 zones

The Mar Menor and the south-east of the region, at the lowest prices in our selection.

The zones we cover

The Mar Menor and the south of the Region of Murcia

Europe’s largest saltwater lagoon, golf all year round and the lowest prices of the three coasts. Here too, new builds only: the first developments are on their way, and the profiles and map are ready.

Around the Mar Menor, Europe’s largest saltwater lagoon, the Costa Cálida offers warm water you can swim in six months a year, two airports (Murcia 10 to 50 minutes away depending on the zone, Alicante 40 minutes to 1 h 40, served from Luxembourg) and prices of €1,000 to €4,000/m² depending on the zone, the lowest in our selection.

From the salt flats of Lo Pagán to the volcanic coves of Mazarrón, by way of the La Manga Club resort, our ten zones cover the lagoon, the open coast and Cartagena. The map places each zone; the profiles give the rest.
