Callao Salvaje sits north of Costa Adeje, in the municipality of Adeje, on the west coast of Tenerife. The neighbourhood comes down to a few gently sloping streets, low-rise residences with gardens and a sandy cove, the Playa de Ajabo, framed by low cliffs. There is no large hotel and no shopping avenue: the scale is that of a residential village.

The Playa de Ajabo is a cove of grey-gold sand, sheltered between low cliffs, with water that is often calm in the morning. It stays quiet even in season: it is a neighbourhood beach rather than a resort beach. For a large equipped stretch of sand, Fañabé is a quarter of an hour away by car.
The recent schemes offer apartments with wide terraces and a communal pool, often facing due west towards the ocean, as well as a few townhouses.
