The atmosphere
Playa Paraíso occupies the coast between Callao Salvaje and Costa Adeje, in the municipality of Adeje. The neighbourhood has changed in a few years: several hotels, among them the Hard Rock Hotel, and contemporary residences have taken the front line. The seafront has been rebuilt, with new promenades above the ocean and infinity pools.
The neighbourhood divides in two: above the coast, the residential part climbs gently and stays quiet; below, activity gathers around the hotels, their restaurants and their beach clubs. The west-facing terraces look towards La Gomera at sunset.
The neighbourhood shops cover everyday needs: supermarkets, a pharmacy and restaurants. For the full services, Costa Adeje is ten minutes away by car, and the South airport 25 minutes. Swimming is done at the Las Galgas cove and on the platforms built along the volcanic shore.
The market runs at two speeds. The residences of the 1990s stay affordable and well placed, and often need renovating. The new front-line developments offer infinity pools, a gym and a concierge service, at clearly higher prices. The gap between old and new is one of the widest on the west coast.
Playa Paraíso suits a buyer aiming at new-build on the front line for a second home, with the services of a managed residence. The older stock is for a tighter budget, with works to plan and community service charges to check. In both cases the car serves as soon as you look for the full services.

The Las Galgas cove, at the foot of the neighbourhood, is a sheltered black-sand beach. The rest of the shore is volcanic: platforms and bathing ladders punctuate the promenade. The recent residences have their own pool, often heated and infinity-edged. For golden sand, the beaches of Costa Adeje are ten minutes away.
