The atmosphere
Fañabé and Torviscas form the central seafront of Costa Adeje, in the south of Tenerife, between Playa del Duque to the north and Puerto Colón to the south. This is the densest part of the municipality: serviced sandy beaches, an unbroken seafront promenade, and shops, cafés and restaurants open all year.
The Fañabé and Torviscas beaches are supervised, equipped and gently shelving. The promenade takes walkers in the morning and runs down to Puerto Colón. The neighbourhood rises gently from the sea, which opens ocean views from the first streets up. The seafront cafés and restaurants open in the evening.
Supermarkets, pharmacies, shopping centres and bus stops are a few minutes’ walk from most residences. The play areas and the gently shelving beaches are made for families. The services of Costa Adeje are used without a car. Allow 20 minutes by car to the South airport.
This is the most affordable market in Costa Adeje: large residential complexes with pools and gardens, one- to three-bedroom apartments, and townhouses in upper Torviscas. Renovated homes with a terrace and a sea view take most of the demand. Quality varies a lot from one residence to the next, upkeep and service charges included.
The area suits families and a first purchase on the island: the beach and the shops are on foot, and budgets stay below those of the El Duque seafront. It suits a buyer after quiet far less well, because the neighbourhood is dense and busy all year.
