Playa del Duque is the most prized heart of Costa Adeje. Around the beach of the same name — golden sand, beige parasols, calm waters — has grown the most exclusive enclave in the south of Tenerife: the Bahía del Duque and Royal Hideaway hotels, the Plaza del Duque shopping centre with its designer boutiques, and residences whose appointments rival those of the neighbouring palace hotels.
The atmosphere is that of an open-air resort, yet without barriers: the promenade is public, the gardens are open, and you drift naturally from a café terrace to the beach.
