At the far north-western end of the coast, Los Gigantes takes its name from the dizzying cliffs that plunge 600 metres into the Atlantic — the most spectacular natural backdrop in the Canaries. The village rises like an amphitheatre above its marina: whitewashed lanes climbing the slope, bougainvillea and terraces turned towards the basalt giants.
The mood is that of an old-world seaside village — peaceful and loyal, with many owners returning here decade after decade, drawn by the beauty of the setting, the gentle microclimate (one of the sunniest on the island) and life around the harbour. Puerto Santiago and the black-sand beach of Playa de la Arena extend the village southwards, with shops and a seafront promenade.
Day-to-day life is fully covered on a village scale: supermarkets, pharmacies, a medical centre, restaurants and sailing clubs. Trips out to sea — watching the dolphins and whales resident in the channel, excursions towards Masca — are part of local life. For larger services, Costa Adeje is twenty-five minutes away along the coast road.
The property market lives off the topography: almost every home looks out over the ocean and the cliffs, from apartments in pool-equipped residences to villas clinging to the slope, some among the most spectacular on the island. Prices remain below those of Costa Adeje for a comparable view — a gap that is narrowing as the west coast grows in reputation.
Los Gigantes is for the contemplative and the sea-lover: sailors, couples buying a second home before the panorama, and purchasers who place the majesty of the setting above proximity to the airport.

Contemplative souls, sailors and sea-lovers who place the beauty of the setting above all else. For them, the cliff panorama from the terrace is worth the thirty-five-minute drive from the airport — and the loyalty of the village's owners proves them right.
