The atmosphere

Palm-Mar sits on a coastal plain on the south coast, closed to the north by the Guaza mountain, a listed nature reserve, and open to the south onto the Atlantic. A single road serves the village, with no through traffic. What has been built there is residential: low buildings, gardens and a seafront promenade.

The village is covered on foot: the bakery, the seafront promenade, the streets where children ride their bicycles. The trails of the Guaza reserve start from the village and serve walkers and runners from first light. The seafront is rocky, with landscaped natural pools and chiringuitos; footfall stays low there, even in high season.

The village covers daily life: supermarkets, a pharmacy, restaurants and cafés. The big shop, healthcare and schools are in Los Cristianos, ten minutes away by car; the South airport is twenty minutes away. A car stays necessary in Palm-Mar as soon as you step outside daily life.

The stock is recent and consistent: almost every home dates from the past twenty-five years. You find residences with a pool, townhouses and contemporary villas along the edge of the reserve, and their number is rising. Prices have moved up as the village has become better known. Because the stock is recent, there is little work to budget for.

Palm-Mar suits remote workers, families and couples who want a quiet second home, a short distance from the airport and the serviced beaches. For year-round living, count on the car, and on Los Cristianos for schools and healthcare.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about Palm-Mar

No, there is no sandy beach. The seafront is volcanic, with landscaped natural pools and bathing areas usable when the sea is calm. For sand, Las Vistas beach in Los Cristianos is ten minutes away by car. In exchange, the village coastline stays quiet all year.

Yes. Fibre optic is installed across the village and the setting is quiet. The South airport is twenty minutes away, with the links to Luxembourg or Brussels: northern Europe stays within round-trip range. On the other hand, the services of the village are limited to basic shops, and the rest is in Los Cristianos.

Palm-Mar is residential first: most of its inhabitants live here all year, which keeps the shops, the restaurants and the local clubs going off season. Second-home owners come mainly in summer and in winter, without the village turning into a resort. The rhythm therefore changes little from one month to the next.
